Jane Austen Fashions - Kitty Bennet of Pride and Prejudice

< Back to Fashions Index

Charlotte Lucas Dress from Pride and Prejudice

Kitty Bennet wears a floor-length gown with an empire waist. The gown is covered over in a subtle floral pattern with a light yellow flavor and features a relatively conservative neckline. Shoulders are capped and the entire silhouette is consistent with casual wear of the time.

Hair is pinned up along the sides and concentrated to the back of the head.

The entire ensemble is detailed by a simple heart-shaped pendant on a thin-chained necklace. Whereas her older, more conservative sisters, might have gone with more traditional religious symbols here, Kitty is still young and in pursuit of the more basic - and perhaps trivial - things in her life.
