Jane Austen Fashions - Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pride and Prejudice

< Back to Fashions Index

Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy Outfit from Pride and Prejudice

Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy greets his onlookers at Meryton wearing a distinctively autumnal color scheme. He wears the traditional cravat with white shirt and vest with this covered over in a dark olive, half-length coat split at the back to allow for horseback riding. Additionally, the entire ensemble is covered over in a flowing full-length, light-colored overcoat, also split at the back.

The man is protected by the country elements by way of a pair of gloves rich in color and a gentlemen-like, dark top hat. An additional punch of color and style is provided for by the calf-high boots.

At any rate, Mr. Darcy is a man ready to take on the society of Meryton and beyond, with clothing fit for a man his wealth and stature.
